Karin Daymond lives and works in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. Her studio is in the beautiful granite hills that surround the town and it faces east. She lives close to nature, but five minutes from the local Spar.
“I see the sun come up and occasionally smell the Indian Ocean. This acts as a compass for much of my landscape work”.  Her paintings are laden with rich colours, organic patterns and expressive brush marks that reflect this strong connection with where she lives.
Karin trained at the University of Kwazulu Natal, completing a Fine Art degree in 1990. In 2008 she decided to do less teaching and more painting. Since then she has been on a roll, with eight solo exhibitions and numerous group shows. Her work is in many private and public collections.
